TMT Fan Champ Challenge

Are you ready to show off your team spirit? Do you wear the passion on your face? Or, if you are Brazilian, do you wear just enough?

Well, we want to find the best fans in Munich! During the World Cup, The Munich Times will be visiting the many public viewing venues, bars and restaurants for the best dressed, most fanatical, the craziest of the craziest fans that day. The winner will get a prize and qualify for the knockout stage.

Our TMT staff will put your picture on our website so all of Munich can vote and decide who will be our Fan Champ at the end of the World Cup. The Champ at the end will get a prize - we cannot promise it will be the Cup itself.

So put on your team's colors, blow your Vuvuzelas loud and proud, and get noticed!!

OK, we now have our 8 competitors... and it is up to you, the readers, to vote for your favourite! Scroll down to your favourite and click the 'vote for me' button to have your vote recorded (only one vote per reader is counted) and see your favourite supporter progress to the final round.

Day 5: Portugal vs. Brazil at Lisboa Bar, Munich

Fans of both teams were representing well, but I had to find a Portugul fan as we had two Brazilians already. It was tough, as fans of all ages showed up to cheer on Christiano Ronaldo & Co. in full color. Finally I found him! Pintas has been in Munich for 1 year since moving from his native Portugal. It took him 6 years to grow out the hair.
Day 5 Winner:
Pintas (in between his mates) wins the final spot into our challenge with his flag, the Vuvuzela, his undying loyalty to Portugal and that HAIR! Despite the team's draw to Brazil, he believes they will move on. But that was BEFORE they were drawn with Spain. Good luck to Portugal and to Pintas!

Day 4: Muenchener Freiheit after Germany-Ghana

It would have been too easy to find a German going crazy after they qualified for the knockout rounds. However, one person did stand out. Memgistu of Munich still stood in the streets, celebrated the atmosphere with all fans, and cheered on his team Ghana. Despite the loss, the Black Stars qualified to move on in the World Cup despite their loss. Like his home team, he will move on in our competition!
Day 4 Winner:
TMT Fan Challenge continues Friday: I will be at Lisboa Bar Breisacher Strasse 22 81667 Muenchen looking for the best Portugal fans during the match vs. Brasil! But, if the Brazil fans come with the expected level of fan craziness, I'll have to make the hard choice. So, Portugal fans - time to put on your game face!!

Day 3: Brazil vs. Ivory Coast at Bachmaier Hofbrau on Leopoldstrasse, Munich

The city was mostly quiet on this dreary, wet Sunday evening, but once I found green and yellow, the party was on! It was tough to find the most supportive of Brazilians fans - they all are behind their team 100% and in a festive mood. But here are my picks.
Day 3 Winner:
Vera Lucia (middle) of Rosenheim joined her friends and was doing the samba all match long. She stood out with that soccer ball on her head. 2nd place:
Carlos and André both live in Munich now, but their hearts are still back home in Brazil. Their crazy hair-do's and Andre's dead-on impression of Ronaldo could not be missed. They'll move on to the next round! So we have Aussies, Brazilians, Americans and yes, Germans. Where are the other fans?!? Tell me where you will be and we might show up! Email me at salman.mitha@themunichtimes.com or tweet @sal_TMT_sports

Day 2: Sportsbar Lounge at Hacker Pschorr Bräuhaus

Day 2 Winner:
Guy, Jana, and Jon (l. to r.) are decked out in the red, white and blue and still optimistic despite the bad call that took away the US win. 2nd place:
Karin from Munich was still in a party mood after the no-show by Germany. Hopefully her spirit can get Jogi's Boys into the next round. We are looking to watch Brazil-Ivory Coast and find our Day 3 winners! Tell us where to find you. Email us at salman.mitha@themunichtimes.com or send a tweet @sal_TMT_sports

Day 1: InterNations Viewing Party

Day 1 winner:
It wasn't all bad for our friends from down under. Sue and Gerard from Melbourne wore their colors proudly and cheered on the Socceroos. That earned them the coveted chocolate ball and entry into the knockout stage!

2nd place:
The German football team are not the only ones with their eyes on the prize! Nina from Cologne painted on her colors and coordinated well (and did a little dance) to win 2nd place! She will be someone to watch in the next round.
